Terpenes

Terpenes are organic compounds found primarily in plants and fruit with the chemical formula (C5H8)n. Chemically, terpenes are unsaturated hydrocarbons, comprising more than 30,000 compounds, most of which are of plant origin. Their molecules consist of two or more isoprene units, which categorizes terpenes into the group of isoprenoids.
